AL SHELTON SCULPTED "STATUE OF LIBERTY" BRONZE BUCKLE
ONLY 100 BRONZE BUCKLES EXIST!
There are only one hundred of these beautiful "Statue of Liberty" bronze belt buckles in existence. The first limited edition buckle was presented to President Ronald Reagan (#1 of 100).
Please click on the photo above and read the President's remarks at the Opening Ceremonies of the Statue of Liberty Centennial Celebration in New York, New York on July 3, 1986.
To create the buckle, artist Al Shelton first carved the design in wax (both front and back). A flexible wax mold was then made to complete the 100 unit buckle series. Each wax copy was then used to create a unique mold for use with the molten metal. Each buckle was then inspected, polished and hand stamped with the limited edition number sequence. The buckle is 2.625" x 3.75" in size and it fits a belt up to 1.5 inches in width.
Today, there are very few of these collector buckles still available to purchase.
