Mother and Child marble sculpture mounted on wood base
Alex Chitura is a master Shona art sculptor originally from Zimbabwe, Africa. The artist and his family are now living in the San Diego, CA area.
His large (public art) works are on display at the San DiegoWildAnimalPark courtesy of the parks Artist Residency Program.
Alex applies his artistic skill by working primarily in stone, wood and metal. You can see here a broad sampling of his master works. His artwork ranges from the life size stone elephant, now on display at the WildAnimalPark, to many smaller items for the home garden or patio.
Alex Chitura is now accepting commissioned applications for his artwork and his artist fees are negotiable.
His current artistic creations include the hand carved hardwood entry door pair (shown above) and a series of small -table top- African animal sculptures.
The hand carved hardwood door and single panel project will have an important impact in designer applications for estate, garden and entry door applications.
The small African animal sculpture collection currently include Elephants and Giraffes in the wild.
