THE VISUAL ART
OF
BRIAN GREGORY ATKIN

Thank you for visiting my site at Artisan StudioWorks.

I have been involved with visual art since early childhood but it turned from a hobby to a more full time endeavor at the age of fifteen. My formal training began in 1994, at the age of seventeen, when I attended the Orange County High School of the Arts.

I have created much work since then and I plan to make many more drawings available to the public in the future.

I hope that my work can find a place in your life.

Brian Gregory Atkin

SALVAGED ANGEL SCULPTURE GETS A NEW LIFE IN VISUAL ART

Brian at Work

EMERGING ARTISAN INTRODUCTION

The talented young artist Brian Gregory Atkin works primarily with graphite and colored pencil. Brian has created a body of images that depict classic sculpture in interesting and traditional settings. The images are primarily done with graphite, however, many are enhanced using just a touch of colored pencil.

The subjects of his work include renderings of statues from the Huntington Library & Gardens in California, as well as, statues found abandoned in architectural salvage warehouses. These abandoned statues are rendered in settings that emerge from Brian's vast imagination.

It should be noted that Brian loves to draw Angels among other subjects that earn his attention.

Another medium that Brian works with is pen & Ink. A series of artistic representations of European Cathedrals have been completed by Brian.

The Huntington Library statuary series and several of the cathedral pen & ink works are available in fine art Giclee print form.

ABOUT MY WORK

The artwork that you see displayed here are several examples of my drawing skill using graphite and color pencil. I have also presented, below, a Cathedral drawing done in pen & ink.

The tall statue drawing, depicted directly below, is one in a series of four selected from subjects in the Huntington Library, Museum and Garden in southern California.

After carefully selecting the subjects and rendering some of my best work to date, I have decided to issue a limited edition series using the Giclee process. Giclee is one of the best print techniques available today.

The prints are available unframed with a Certificate of Authenticity.
