Hear Al Shelton talk about "The Noon Change" painting.
The Noon Change oil on canvas was used to illustrate a story in Western Horseman magazine.

This oil on canvas is called "The Noon Change".

In the old days, cowboys would make a change of horses around noon time. This little thought about fact of cowboy life is what inspired Al to compose this painting.

Al Shelton painted this picture trying to get on the cover of Western Horseman magazine. There were so many artist submiting work that Al's painting could not be used for that. However, the editors used it to illustrate a story in the magazine. They printed the artwork in color too!

Al was happy about that.

Celebrated Western artist Al Shelton is well known for his leather craft and his fantastic collection of bronze & Silver buckles. However, Al is also a very talented story teller through his paintings as well.

Al's work is collected by many Hollywood celebrities that include, Tom Selleck, Angie Dickinson, Jackie Chan, Sylvester Stallone, Gene Autry, President Ronald Reagan and many others.

Influenced by western artists Charles M. Russell and Olaf Wieghorst, Al began his painting career in the 1950's. His original paintings are widely collected and many include original stories and related cowboy poems.

The seven new prints are taken from the personal collection of the artist and include five oils and two water colors.

Dealers are now being added to expand the distribution.

Each print includes a signed certificate, an embossed leather medallion and a two CD "Living History" biographical audio book. The prints are available unframed or you may select a number of custom western frame options (call to inquire about framing options).
